Coco peat (cocopeat), also known as coir pith, coir fibre pith, or simply coir dust is made from coconut husks, which are byproducts of Coir industries that use coconuts. Coir waste from coir fibre is separated washed, dried, screened and graded before being processed into coco peat products of various granularity and denseness, which are then used for horticultural and agricultural applications and as industrial absorbent.
Based on the Electrical Conductivity, Fibre Content and screening we grade coco peat into two types. They are
- Low EC Coco Peat
- High EC Coco Peat
The EC index is to measure the amount of salt and nutrients present in a substrate (<0.5 ms/cm). The Low EC coco peat having low level of salt in the product. And high EC coir pith indicates the amount of salt is substantial (> 0.8ms/sm)

Low EC coco peat has an electrical conductivity (EC) value of less than 0.5 mS/cm and a pH range of 5.5 to 6.8, while high EC coco peat has an EC value of more than 0.8 mS/cm. EC measures the amount of salt and nutrients in a substrate. Low EC coco peat has a low salt level, while high EC coco peat has a high salt level.
Low EC coco peat is a growing medium used in agriculture and floriculture, while high EC coco peat is used as bedding in animal farms. Low EC coco peat is made from coconut husks that have been washed, dried, screened, and graded before being processed into coco peat. High EC coco peat is moisture absorbent, has a soft cushioning effect, and is free of fine dust particles, Molds, and pathogens.
Low EC coco peat
Low EC coco peat is used as Growing mediums. High EC coco peat
High EC coco peat is used as bedding in animal farms. Coco animal bedding is ideal as bedding for as floor layer for animal sheds due to its moisture absorbing quality & soft bed cushioning effects. These bedding are easy to lay & easy to remove & is free from fine dust particles. Our Materials are screened, vacuumed materials without fine dust / additives. It is also sterilized material free from molds and pathogens with no bad odor.
